Martin, has been Chairman of Kind Consumer since January 2009 having been part of the small body of investors that made the initial seed investment. Until his retirement in October 2007, Martin was The Chief Executive of the Co-operative Group, a multi-billion pound turnover enterprise employing in excess of 85,000 people across a diverse portfolio of businesses. During his tenure, he continued extensive restructuring and modernisation of the group – which spans food stores, funeral services, pharmacies and financial services. A Cambridge University graduate, Martin Beaumont spent the first 16 years of his career with KPMG, becoming a partner with general practice and management consultancy responsibilities. Amongst several non-executive and advisory roles, he is Chairman of Chester Race Company and member of the board of The Duchy of Lancaster.
